How My Universe Model Compares with Seth’s

I only recently came across Jane Roberts’ Seth material, and I was curious to see how it compared with what my guides have shared with me through the rods. While I noticed plenty of overlap with my own understanding of how the universe works, there are also some key differences. My model feels more grounded, structured, and almost ‘game-like.’ Here’s where Seth and I align, and where my universe theory takes its own unique turn.

The Origins of the Seth Material
For those unfamiliar, Jane Roberts was a psychic and author best known for channeling an entity called Seth in the 1960s and 70s. The “Seth Material” became hugely influential, laying the groundwork for much of today’s New Age thought- from ideas about creating your own reality to exploring the soul’s journey beyond physical life. Many teachers and movements since then trace their roots back to Seth’s teachings, which is why his work is often seen as a cornerstone of modern metaphysical philosophy.
Higher Self & Soul Family
Seth: The Oversoul spawns many incarnations, all existing simultaneously. Each personality is a facet of the greater multidimensional self.
Me: I believe my Higher Self has birthed around 1,400 incarnations so far. Each one is a unique individual with their own soul, yet still connected as part of the Higher Self’s “soul group.” For a friend of mine, the number was 1,900, so this varies by Higher Self line.
Where we overlap: Seth leans into simultaneity, while I lean into the incarnation line.
Individuality
Seth: Each self is a fragment, but each fragment has eternal validity.
Me: Each incarnation is a whole soul, not just a fragment. We are individuals first, while still tethered to the Higher Self’s story.
Where we overlap: Both systems honour individuality, though I give it a stronger role.
After Death
Seth: Personality continues after death, exploring expanded states of being and sometimes reincarnating.
Me: When someone dies, the soul free floats. Past lives move into a timeless realm, becoming a cheer squad for the current incarnation.
Where we overlap: Both say the story continues. Seth frames it abstractly, I frame it as an invisible cheer squad.
Time
Seth: Time is nonlinear; past, present, and future all exist at once.
Me: Time matters in the physical, but outside the body it collapses. Past and future selves already exist in the non-physical realm, cheering me on.
Where we overlap: We both agree that time is only a construct within the physical world. Seth describes this as all moments existing simultaneously, while I see it as time folding in on itself once you leave the body, with past and future selves already present, supporting the current incarnation.
Creation of Reality
Seth: Beliefs create reality. Inner images shape outer experience.
Me: I believe this too, but I add another layer: we’re born with natural energy & wiring (like finger lengths and our palm blueprint) that sets our baseline template. Trauma may block this growth, but when nurtured, it flourishes.
Where we overlap: Seth says belief is everything; I say belief plus blueprint & energy.
Guides
Seth: Guides exist, but most emphasis is on multidimensional selves.
Me: My guides have shown me that 99.99% of people have a minimum of 28 guides. Not 29, not 30, 28 is the baseline. Some people have more depending on their path. On the flip side, if someone is deeply negative, guides can “walk off the job.”
Guide Types: The mix varies. For example, I have dragon guides, but not everyone does, since dragons were only added to the guide pool later. Another person might have more angel guides, or more ancestral guides. I often use my rods to confirm how many guides someone has, then break them down into categories: angels, dragons, ancestors, star beings, animals, and so on.
Where we overlap: Both affirm guidance exists. Seth keeps it general, I give it structure, fixed minimum, variable extras, and a diversity of guide types.
Purpose of Incarnations
Seth: Incarnations are creative explorations, each adding to the Oversoul.
Me: The Higher Self started this game long ago. Each of my 1,400 lives contributes to its growth and becomes part of the timeless cheering squad. A friend’s Higher Self, by comparison, has around 1,900 lives, so the number differs.
Where we overlap: Both treat incarnation as growth, though I see it more like a team sport/game.
Destiny / Evolution
Seth: Some selves evolve into guides or teachers, but all contribute to the Oversoul.
Me: Most souls eventually become a guide. Outside of the “game of life,” time doesn’t exist, which means our guide-self already exists. Every soul contributes to the greater blueprint, ticking off the lessons and experiences on their game list along the way.
Where we overlap: Both agree incarnations evolve into guidance roles, I simply make it universal.
Blended Takeaway
Seth’s view is abstract and flowing, rooted in simultaneity and probabilities. My view builds on that with structure: variable incarnation counts, a minimum of 28 guides for 99.99% of people, guide types that vary by individual, and finger and palm blueprints as part of the design.
Where Seth says belief creates reality, I say belief plus blueprint creates reality. Where Seth sees the Oversoul, I see a Higher Self running a long-term game where every life and every guide type has a role to play.
Both models ultimately affirm the same truth:
We are part of something larger.
Time isn’t what we think.
Reality is shaped from within.
Every incarnation contributes to growth, guidance, and eventually mastery.
How This Differs From Common Beliefs
Guides: Many people believe we have one main guide or a small team. My guides show that 99.99% of people have a baseline of 28, with extras possible.
Incarnations: Some teachings say souls reincarnate endlessly. In my findings, incarnation counts differ per Higher Self, mine is 1,400 (before me), my friend’s is 1,900.
Types of Guides: General lore often focuses on angels. I’ve confirmed that guide teams are diverse- dragons, angels, ancestors, star beings, animals, depending on the person.
Creation of Reality: Popular teachings emphasise the Law of Attraction. I agree with the core but add that energy & physical wiring (like finger lengths in palmistry) plays a role in the soul’s design and how belief manifests.
Closing Thoughts
The Seth material opened the door for many to see reality as flexible, multidimensional, and far more expansive than everyday life suggests. My own universe model builds on that foundation but adds structure- fixed guide numbers, incarnation lines, soul blueprints, and the physical markers that shape our growth. Where Seth describes flowing possibilities, I frame it as a long-term game with clear stages, rules, and outcomes. Both perspectives point toward the same truth: we are here to learn, contribute, and eventually guide.
The real question is, how does this fit with your own sense of the universe? Do you feel the presence of your guides, or notice patterns in your own “game list”? Reflect on the lessons you’ve already ticked off and consider what role you might be moving toward next. After all, every soul is part of a larger design, and your path is an essential piece of it. - Ang x
